I know I haven't posted in a LONG while, but I have been soooooo busy with work that it takes up A LOT of my time. I have read so many books in the past months that I will be blogging about soon when my hectic work life gets less busy.

New Book Alert - My Name Is Memory by Ann Brashares
Release Date in Hardback 24th June 2010
I have fallen in love and she is the one who endures me.
I killed her once and died for her many times and I will have nothing to show for it.
I always search for her. I always remember her.
I carry the hope that someday she will remember me.
I was lucky enough to get an early copy of "My Name is Memory" by Ann Brashares (author of Sisterhood of the traveling pants) and I'm glad I took the book along with me on holiday. The book is a real page turner and I was so hooked I couldn't put it away.
The book is the first book in a trilogy and what a great start with book one.
The book tells the story of Daniel who over time gets reincarnated and finds himself falling in love with the same girl over and over again Lucy. Their story spans a thousand years but sadly they are always torn apart and sometimes with fatal consequences.
What I loved about this book was the way Ann tells the story from Daniel and Lucy's points of view, also the story is told over time. The book can be described as The Time Traveler's wife (due to the intensity of the story and it covers past and present times) meets Twilight or The Immortals, as all three books deal with the issues of forbidden/impossible/passionate true love.
If you love reading and love Ann's books or books like Time Travelers wife, Twilight and The Immortal series you will love this book, perfect for reading on the beach if you are jetting off for summer or at home while chilling.
I am also excited that a Hollywood movie version is on its way. I can't wait to watch it.

Jetset Books - Books To Pack In Your Case This Summer
It's that time of the year when everyone goes crazy and excited about summer vacations as this often means traveling somewhere nice and hot (that's if you are leaving from the UK). I will be packing my cases soon and heading for destination sunshine, but not without taking a couple of books to read.
What is says on the back of the book :
I need a book for the plane, a book or two for when I'm on the beach or just lounging and a book for my journey back home.
Books that I have selected to take with me on my trip are based on how heavy the book is (I don't want books using up space that I can use for shoes in my case). I also like easy and quick to read books, usually chick lit nothing too heavy or emotionally draining, basically a "happy romantic easy to read book"
For the plane journey I plan to read "Until You" by Judith McNaught. "Until You" is the spin off from "Whitney My Love" which I read a couple of months ago and I LOVED it. In "Until You" it tells the story of Stephen Westmoreland the brother of Clayton Westmoreland from "Whitney My Love". I love reading historical romance books as they remind me of "Gone with the wind" which will always be one of my favorite movies ever.
For the beach/lounging "Confetti Confidential" by Holly McQueen , this book is not due for release until June but I was lucky to get a copy at a recent event I attended, cant wait to read it
"Isabel Bookbinder dreams of pearly white weddings, happy brides, handsome grooms. And champagne towers that don't topple over. She dreams of the perfect wedding. But not for herself...for her clients. It's all about bride management as far as Isabel's concerned. Even when she misplaces a couple of brides and loses her job working for wedding guru Pippa Everitt, Isabel isn't disheartened. She throws herself straight into launching Isabel Bookbinder, Individual Weddings, and with a pop starlet and a millionaire as her first clients, business is looking rosy. Unfortunately for Isabel, nothing ever goes quite according to plan..."
For the journey back home "A Summer Fling" by Milly Johnson

Recently Read- My Single Friend by Jane Costello
I have just finished reading "My Single Friend" by Jane Costello. The book tells the story about Lucy who is 28 years old, has a successful career in PR, a great boss and the best friends a girl could wish for. However Lucy is flat mates with Henry who has been her best friend for over 20 years. One day Lucy and her friends decide to give Henry a makeover to un-geekify him so that he can get lucky in love as he isn't doing so well in that department. The makeover turns out to have unexpected outcomes with Lucy seeing a side of her best friend Henry that she never noticed before. Could Lucy be falling for her best friend Henry ?
What I loved about this book was that it was so funny from the start, and I knew from the first chapter that the book will quick, easy and an enjoyable read. The characters were easy to understand and likeable, also they all had a relevance in the plot. I couldn't put the book down while reading it as there were unexpected twists in the story that kept me reading on.
If you need a book to take on holiday to read on the beach I recommend this book as its laugh out loud funny with a sweet romantic story as well.

Coming Soon
There are so many books due out in the next couple of months that I can't wait to read but on my must read list are the below books as they are follow on books from a series of books that I've started reading
The first on the list and pre ordered if Sophie Kinsella's "Mini Shopaholic".If you are familiar with the shopaholic series of books then you should be excited about this book to. It follows on from where we last left becky but this time she has a mini Becky her daughter and from the title I'm sure it will be a good and funny read. I was really disappointed with the Shopaholic movie so this new book should make up for that bad mistake.
"Keys to the Repository" by Melissa de la Cruz is made up of short stories from the "Blue Blood" series it contains fillers from the books and extends some of the story lines further.

Release Date: 3rd Sept 2010
I'm planning to take a day out of my busy schedule so I can read "Linger" by Maggie Stiefvater when this comes out. It's book 2 from the Wolves of Mercy Falls series, "Shiver" was the 1st book and I loved it so much. If you liked the Twilight books I'll def recommend these books. But don't expect an Edward Cullen character as there are no vamps in this book.
Release Date: 21st July 2010
Torment by Lauren Kate is the follow on book after Fallen.
Release Date : 30th Sept 2010
The first time I started reading "I heart New York" by Lindsey Kelk I didn't really like it as the book started off too slow for me, so I read a little bit of it and put it away. I then read loads of other books and just couldn't bring myself to finish it. I did read it one day and I really liked it. It's not one of the best books I've read but its a good chick lit book, with all the right essentials and a Marc Jacobs bag thrown in. I'm still yet to read "I heart Hollywood" the 2nd book in the series, it's in my to read book pile slowly making its way up the list, but I've also got the 3rd book I heart Paris on pre order
Release Date : 9th July 2010
I knew I was going to like "Hush Hush" by Becca Fitzpatrick as soon as I started reading it, I bought it based on recommendation and it lived up to its reviews. Crescendo is the 2nd book in the series, and it follows on from where the first book ended. The main plot of the story centers around fallen angels.
Release date: 15th October 2010
"Shadowlands" by Alyson Noel is the 3rd book in The Immortals series. I really enjoyed reading "Evermore" bk1 and "Bluemoon" bk 2. The books are about Ever who on losing both her parents and her sister in an accident she survived has the ability to see ghost. They are very easy and enjoyable reads and I got through the 2nd book in a day.
Release Date : 5th July 2010
"Keys to the Repository" by Melissa de la Cruz is made up of short stories from the "Blue Blood" series it contains fillers from the books and extends some of the story lines further.
Release date: 30th June 2010
I loved the Twilight books by Stephenie Meyer and I love the movies even more. I was looking forward to "Midnight Sun" getting released but that never happened. "The Short second life of Bree Tanner" is a spinoff from Eclipse and tells the story of the newborn vampires as they prepare to confront Bella and The Cullens.

Blogger Event - Lisa Jewell
I had the pleasure of being invited to a blogger event this week and OMG the chance to meet Lisa Jewell. I was so excited cause I have only recently become a fan after only reading one book "Thirty Nothing" I knew straight away that she was going to be one of my new favorite authors. I loved how the story was told, loved the characters in the book, there were parts of the book that made me laugh, cry and so many other emotions her writing really brought the characters to life and I got so sucked into the book I couldn't stop reading it.I know the book I'm reading is a very good book when eating becomes secondary to me.I did wonder why it has taken me so long to discover Lisa Jewell's books but either way I'm glad I have.
The event/meet gave myself and other bloggers/writers the chance to find out about more about Lisa and how she started writing also what we as bloggers do and how we got started. It was an insightful evening listening to others talk about themselves over wine and nibbles and I felt inspired by what everyone had to say.
One of the main highlights of the evening was Lisa's new book "After the party" which is the follow on from "Ralph's Party" which was written 11 years ago,it tells the story 11 years on in "After the party". I'm praying that my copy of "Ralph's Party" gets delivered from Amazon soon so I can finally read both books.

Bloggers in attendance were
Lisa The Wright stuff
Hannah Why Miss Jones
Cate Bitch Buzz
Yasmin Selena Yasmin's Myspace
It was also interesting hearing what the group had to say about how like the characters in the book their lives had changed over the past 10 years. I know that if you had asked me 10 years ago when I was about to turn 21 where I would be at 30? 99% of what I'm doing now would never have crossed my mind. I spent majority of my 20s being scared of getting into my 30s and now I'm at the start of it I think its one of the best things thats ever happened to me and I'm looking fwd to seeing what life has in store for me.
Lisa Jewell's Bibliography also includes
The Truth about Melody Brown
31 Dream street
A friend of the family
One hit wonder
Vince and Joy
Another highlight was the goodie bag we each got at the end that contained books from authors that I like. It's almost as if they read my mind, but I am starting to run out of storage space for books. I'll probably have to do a Carrie Bradshaw and start using my oven for storage as it doesn't do much else these days.

Currently Reading - One Day By David Nicholls
I have never read a book written by a man (strange I know) as most chick lit's are written by females, and all the ones I've read have been by female writers. I came across this book through my amazon recommends page, and loved the plot straight away so I decided to read reviews and there were so many positive reviews from readers and authors so I bought it.
What it says on the back of the book
You can live your whole life not realising that what you're looking for is right in front of you.
15th July 1988. Emma and Dexter meet on the night of their graduation tomorrow they must go their separate ways, so where will they be this day next year? and the year after that? and every year that follows?
Once I'm done reading it i'll post my review/comments.

I am such a die hard romantic, I believe in fairy tales,Prince Charming on a white horse and happily ever afters. One of the most romantic books I've ever read and now def one I will re read again and again is Whitney My Love which was recommended by the lovely Purplelyna on her blog. I knew I def had to read it if she was recommending it. I love period romance and Gone with The Wind is still my fave movie ever.
The book tells the story of Whitney Stone and Clayton Westermorland and their trails and tribulations. Judith McNaught is such a good storyteller as I laughed, sighed, gasped and cried a lot (even on the train) when I read this book. I would love to see a movie made as it will go on to be an epic like Gone with the wind with the right cast and script. If period romance or romance in general is your thing you should def read this book. Its a perfect read for now as its Febuary the month of Valentine and all things love.

I haven't done a currently reading for a while but I have read a lot of books in the past couple of weeks so its only right that I should share. I'm so lucky when it comes to books as I have read some really good books lately, thanks to Amazon readers reviews and my good book instincts.
Beastly by Alex Flinn
I liked this book as it is a mordern day take on Beauty and The Beast set in high school. It was a very enjoyable read and I'm excited about the movie which is out in July, def one to watch in the summer.
Kissed By An Angel by Elizabeth Chandler
One of the cutest love stories I have read this year so far, it was a very good read, with loads of different emotions and twists that I wasn't expecting.

I bought this book based on the number of positive reviews it got on Amazon and twitter recommendations and I'm glad I did. It's a story about forbidden love. I can't wait to get back to reading to see what happens next.

I have actually finished reading this book but I loved it so much I couldnt put it down to blog about it. Shiver by Maggie Stiefwater is one of the most romantic books I've read . If you like Twilight and are Team Jacob then you will like this book. I wont write much about it as I'll end up giving too much away in excitement.

I love to read books which means to add to my shopaholic list i also love to buy books. Amazon and Play.com are my BFFs when it comes to books as i can spend hours browsing , making my wish list bigger and adding to my reading collection.
I am currently reading Luxury by Jessica Ruston which is her first novel. Its has had really good reviews from readers and writers. If glitz, scandal, glamour, romance, are the kinds of things you like in a book then you will def like this book. I also love it as the story focuses on 3 lead male characters, you wouldnt expect that from a book called Luxury, but revenge from a man is def more scandalous and destroying.
Since a lot of books are being made into movies these days I would def see this on the big screen or better if it were made into tv series as it has all the makings of a perfect series.
The way to sum it is from words on the back of the book
" A scandalously good look at life lived in the lap of Luxury"
What are you currently reading or what books would you recommend?

One thing I love as much as shopping is that I love to read .I read a lot of books in 2009 and I enjoyed them all. When I buy books I buy them based on reviews first and then what the story is about. I love romantic fiction, para romance and chick lit.
Some of the best books I read from my 2009 book list
I could not put this book away when I read it, it was High fashion, high art, high expectations – it was Pretty Woman for the twenty-first century. Its a book I'll def read again.
I read these books when I was on holiday in the summer and the story is amazing ,There are four books in the series, it's Gossip Girl set in 1899 it has Society's elite: the glamour, the grandeur, the glittering parties, the most handsome beaus, the most beautiful debutantes, the rich girl, the humble boy, the forbidden love, the hushed whispers, the stolen glances, the whispers, the scandal, the mystery, the revenge. If you love Gossip Girl you should read these books
If you are a fan of Sophie Kinsella read Twenties Girl her latest book, also check out Luxury by Jessica Ruston
